YouTube has just launched a great new feature called Video Annotations. Video Annotations allows you to add speech bubble type boxs to your videos & link these speech bubbles to another YouTube video or even to your YouTube channel. This is a great little feature.

Annotations

It means that while a user is watching your video you can send them to a related video or even an infomercial or sales video related to what they are viewing. I’ve already set one up & you can see it in action on my Yahoo Answers Video

As the viewer is watching the video about 17 seconds in a clickable speech bubble pops up saying ‘Click Here For Free Website Traffic‘ as the viewer is already watching a video about website traffic this is very relevant to them & when they click it they are sent to my video about the Traffic Transformer.

This feature can be used for any niche. For example if you’re in the dog training niche & have a dog training video, during the video give the viewer the opportunity to go see some information about your product, an infomercial or some testimonials. This is a great way to deliver information to a potential customer & makes it very easy for them to get more information about you and your product.

Also the googlesystem blog says Annotations are a new way for you to add interactive commentary to your videos. Use them to add background information about the video, create stories with multiple possibilities (viewers click to choose the next scene) or link to related YouTube videos, channels, or search results from within a video.” Here’s an example of an interactive card trick video created using annotations.

Youtube Annotations

Here’s what YouTube’s help center says about annotations:

“Video annotations are a new way for you to add interactive commentary onto your videos!

You control what the annotations say, where they appear on the video, and when they appear and disappear. You can even link from an annotation to another YouTube Video, Channel, or Search result.

To get started, log into your YouTube account and choose one of two options:
Option 1:

1. Click “Account” at the top of any page.
2. Under “Manage My Videos”, click “Videos, Favorites, & Playlists”.
3. Find the video you’d like to add annotations to.
4. Click the “Annotate Video” button.

Option 2:

1. Choose to play one of your videos.
2. At the bottom of your video description box (on the right) you have “Video Owner Options” on a blue background.
3. Click the “Add/Edit Annotations” button.

For more info on how to create and edit annotations, please visit: “How do I create or edit video annotations?”

Video annotations, once published, are shown by default. You can turn them off while watching a video through the “Menu” button on the bottom right of the video player.

Please note: Video annotations are available now as a “beta” feature. We’re working hard to get this out of beta and, once we do, annotations will officially support languages other than English, embeds, and full-screen playback.”

Get New Visitors By Answering Questions

Posted by Mark Flavin
May 31, 2008 at 7:12 am

One of the deepest desires of people today is the desire to feel important. One easy way to make someone feel important is to give them attention and show you care about the things they care about. Be there when that person needs you and help that person when they need help, and you’ll be satisfying the deep desire to feel important.

Now if you can make your customers feel important, do you think they’ll be interested in buying from you again & again? When you’ve bought from someone who truly seemed to care about you and felt you were important, didn’t you feel a certain loyalty? This post will show one way to build a base of loyal customers by answering questions at places like Yahoo Answers and Answerbag.com especially if you own a service oriented or info product business.

Yahoo Answers Traffic

Sites like Answerbag.com and Yahoo Answers have become very popular. People can ask questions on just about any topic and end up with at least one answer. When users on Answerbag were recently asked why they answered questions, the responses included:

“I have made new friends here at Answerbag, and I like to share my
knowledge with them.”

“I love sharing views and opinions.”

“In helping others, it seems to help me. Feel better about myself.”

“I want people to answer my questions, so I will answer theirs.”

So what does that have to do with you, an internet marketer? How could that possibly help your online business? Do you notice the words “friends”, “sharing”, and “helping” in the comments I quoted? These are all relationship words, and creating relationships is the key to building a loyal customer base.

Once you’ve started to build a relationship with someone on one of these Answer sites, you’ve started to open the door to doing business with them. If you gave a truly helpful answer, and as I said earlier made someone feel important by helping them, you’ve created a powerful emotional attachment with that person.

Once you have this attachment you can carefully introduce the fact that you have a business related to the topic you helped that person with, and that you may be able to help them even more through your business.

Although most of these Answer sites are limited in how they can allow you to link back to your web site, there is usually some place to put a little description of yourself in a profile. Be sure to mention the fact that you own a web site on a particular topic, and you may create a bit of traffic from your profile.

But remember we are talking about a relationship-based type of marketing, and as with any relationship you have to give it time to grow before you can expect someone to jump on board and buy your product. However with a little patience, you can be well on your way to building a loyal base of visitors by making them feel important.

Posted by Mark Flavin
May 23, 2008 at 9:27 am

One of the best ways to boost your personal brand and drive traffic to your site is by submitting “expert” articles to certain sites. By establishing yourself as a renowned expert in a certain field, people will start to regard your site as a trusted source for information. In other words, the traffic you drive to your site will actually stick.

Luckily, there are many free article submission sites that will allow you to include a short bio and link back to your site. Below are 10 sites that are known for sending good traffic.

1. Ezine Articles – Regarded as the most popular place to submit articles, building a portfolio of popular content on Ezine Articles will really help your traffic.

2. Buzzle – Buzzle is as popular as Ezine Articles these days and the site will randomly feature authors throughout the site, which is an added bonus for attracting readers.

3. Gather – This is an article submission resource, as well as a social networking site. Here, you will be able to connect with other writers and readers in order to increase your traffic.

4. Associated Content – You can publish for free on this site or promise exclusive rights and get paid for your work. Associated Content is a great tool for boosting your brand, though your articles won’t prominently feature a bio and backlink like some other sites.

5. Articlesbase – This is a fairly new directory of articles that has gained a lot of momentum recently. Use this site properly and you might drum up a lot of viral traffic.

6. ArticleGeek – Another popular article directory, ArticleGeek is designed to garner you some targeted traffic, which is always a good thing.

7. ArticleCity – This is one of the easiest sites to quickly submit an article with a biography and backlink. ArticleCity is quickly becoming one of the most popular places to read and submit free articles.

8. Article Blotter – This site has recently seen a facelift and is attracting a lot of new readers and writers.

9. WebArticles.com – This site is mainly focused on articles about family and parenting. If this is related to your niche, then WebArticles.com is a great place to find some targeted readers.

10. Power Publish Directory – A UK site, this directory focuses on business-related topics and asks that all articles be at least 500 words long.

6 Red Hot Tips To Get Your Articles Read

Posted by Mark Flavin
May 5, 2008 at 3:22 pm

There are many people who dread having to write papers or articles. Many just feel like it seems to be too much work and it all just goes to waste when no one reads it. To some people, reading articles seems like work especially if the article is boring and very bland.

Well, articles are supposed to be read, thats their purpose to impart your message and information. If it is not read then it is a waste of time and effort.

But all the same, articles have to be written to be read. It’s just a matter of making them good. Making a good article doesn’t have to be strenuous and straining. There are just some points needed to be reminded of, and some guides to follow.

Once you get the hang of it, writing articles could be fun, as well as profitable for you and your site.

Of course, writing articles must be about something you know about, that’s why if you own a site, you probably are knowledgeable about that certain topic and theme. When you write about it, you wont have a hard time because you already know what it is and what it’s about. It’s just a matter of making your articles creative and interesting.

To make sure that your articles get read and are enjoyed, here are six red hot tips to get your articles read. These tips will make your articles readable and interesting.

1) Use short paragraphs. When the paragraph are very long, the words get jumbled in the mind of the reader just looking at it It can get quite confusing and too much of a hard work to read. The reader will just quickly disregard the paragraph and move on to much easier reading articles that are good to look at as well as read. Paragraphs can be a single sentence, sometimes even a single word!

2) Make use of numbers or bullets. As each point is stressed out, numbers and bullets can quickly make the point easy to remember and digest. As each point, tip, guide or method is started with a bullet or point, readers will know that this is where the tips start and getting stressed. Format you bullets and numbers with indentations so that your4 article wont look like a single block of square paragraphs. Add a little bit of flair and pizzazz to your articles shape.

3) Use Sub-headings to sub-divide your paragraphs in the page. Doing this will break each point into sections but still would be incorporated into one whole article. It would also be easy for the reader to move on from one point to another; the transition would be smooth and easy. You will never lose your readers attention as well as the point and direction to where the article is pointing.

4) Provide a good attention-grabbing title or header. If your title can entice a persons curiosity you’re already halfway in getting a person to read your article. Use statements and questions that utilize keywords that people are looking for. Provide titles or headers that describe your articles content but should also be short and concise.

Use titles like, Tips on making her want you more, or How to make her swoon and blush .You could also use titles that can command people, for example, Make her yours in six easy Ways. These types of titles reach out to a persons emotions and makes them interested.

5) Keep them interested from the start to the finish. From your opening paragraph, use real life situations that can be adopted by the reader. Use good descriptions and metaphors to drive in your point, just donít over do it. Driving your examples with graphic metaphors and similes would make it easy for them to imagine what you are talking about. Making the experience pleasurable and enjoyable for them.

6) Utilize figures when necessary and not just ordinary and insipid statements. Using specific facts and figures can heighten your article because it makes it authoritative. But do not make it too formal, it should be light and easy in them and flow. Like a friendly teacher having a little chat with an eager student.
